ISS SecurOS servers deployed at Borovichi Refractories Plant
The Borovichi Refractories Plant, one of the largest factories in Europe, and a critical component in Russia’s industrial and petroleum value chains, has deployed the ISS SecurOS video surveillance framework and the ISS AutoInspector License Plate Recognition System. The deployed systems enhanced the security of the plant and surrounding areas by utilizing a variety of ISS technologies:
- View camera position on a map
- Management and monitoring of video signals
- Automatically record potentially dangerous situations (i.e. motion detection or sabotage)
- PTZ and IP camera integration
- Archival and rapid analysis of video storage
- License Plate Recognition
- Search for recognized numbers through multiple databases in real time
- Permit vehicle access using white (“have access”), black (“no access”) and/or information lists
- Registering and editing recognized license plates in internal database with additional data: transit date and time, video information referencing (freeze or video frame), etc.
- Printing a report of the captured car: print frame and information about the recognized license plate
- Synchronous video information saving and browsing on several cameras
- Search and provision for advanced system reaction and operator notification based on license plate recognition results and/or comparison with information from a database
The history of Borovichi Refractories Plant began in 1857, when Emmanuel Nobel, a Swedish scientist and industrialist, built the first Russian plant for manufacturing "fire resistant bricks" from the local "fire resistant" clays. In 1994, Borovichi Refractories commenced the development of ceramic proppant manufacturing process to satisfy new demands of the market. Pilot production of proppants began in 1996. Since 2000, the JSC Borovichi Refractories Plant has been the member of Proppant Consortium. The Russian Federal Institute of Industrial Property registered Borovichi Refractories’ proppant under BORPROP trade mark. JSC Borovichi Refractories Plant is a leader of Russian economy. It was awarded certificates for "Russian Traditions of Quality" and the Regional competition "For Quality". It became a prizewinner of the contest "Top 10 Goods of Novgorod region". In 2000 and 2002, Borovichi Refractories Plant was a laureate of the Russia-wide competition "Top 100 Goods of Russia" for manufacturing high quality products. In 2002, on the basis of competition results, the plant joined the best 1000 Russian enterprises. Today, the plant employs 5500 employees, and is considered one of Russia and Europe’s largest and most technologically advanced plants.
About Intelligent Security Systems (ISS) International
ISS International, headquartered in Woodbridge, NJ, with offices in North America and Europe, is a leader in the video security technology, and provides a comprehensive line of digital security and surveillance video solutions. With operations in 51 countries, ISS provides solutions for video security and surveillance systems integrating a variety of distributed ISS and third party modules. Key components of ISS technology include video forensics and smart video subsystems, an enterprise framework with network capability, and an extensible and scalable architecture, with virtually unlimited customization and scripting capabilities. These components define a philosophy of proactive security, one which we call “on demand security”, and allows for centralized command and control of an entire enterprise security network.
Smart video subsystems include Face Capture & Recognition, Traffic Monitoring, Transit & Cargo Container Recognition, License Plate Recognition, and Object Tracking, as well as dedicated solutions for POS (shrinkage detection) and ATM systems.
ISS has successfully deployed over 25,000 systems in command of over 150,000 cameras worldwide. ISS vertical markets include Smart Facilities, Transportation (airports, railways and highways), Urban Surveillance, Retail, Banking & Finance, Critical Infrastructure, and Refineries & Energy Facilities, including Nuclear Power Stations.
The development team has over 20 years history, originating at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia's leading scientific institution and one of the oldest and most prestigious European educational institutions.
