ISS optimizes SecurOS for HP ProLiant Series of Servers
Woodbridge, NJ, October 7, 2007 – ISS announced today that the SecurOS line of Video Server solutions are now optimized for HP ProLiant servers. The integration of ISS technology with HP ProLiant servers offers an innovative, reliable solution for customers looking to improve operational efficiency while managing complexity and risk.
The ISS SecurOS video security and surveillance framework is the ISS flagship solution and market leader for large-scale video security deployments. SecurOS features several key differentiators from competitive products within the marketplace:
- A selection of optional onboard smart video and forensic capabilities for image processing and recognition (i.e. Face Recognition, License Plate Recognition, Traffic Monitoring, POS & ATM systems, etc.).
- Extensive customization and scalability of system architecture.
- Fully-open architecture to integrate third-party control systems and devices.
- Capability for unifying security networks of unlimited scope - video or telemetry from any camera or device on the network can be monitored and managed from any point on the network or remotely at any time.
- SecurOS offers the opportunity to program complex system reactions to complex system events. This feature, “on demand security”, allows a surveillance system to intelligently and dynamically react to real world events.
- Capability to develop an architecture with significant fault tolerance and redundancy. Hierarchical configuration servers manage network video recorders, IP cameras and devices, storage units, and indexing servers, with the capability to reroute video data as necessary in case of device failure.
The video security architecture utilized at airports and other critical infrastructure showcases a variety of unique technologies for the security of airports, transit hubs, ports, and other critical national security establishments. The SecurOS video server framework allows system engineers and administrators to customize system requirements as necessary and to deploy new technologies and functionalities on an as-needed basis. SecurOS further provides a hybrid mix of analog, IP, and IP megapixel cameras within not only the same video network, but on each server as well. The SecurOS featureset remains unparalleled in the industry.
The HP ProLiant portfolio includes the BL (HP Blade System), DL (rack-optimized), and ML (expansion-optimized) servers. It features remote management capabilities, comprehensive expandability, upgraded firmware, power management and chassis design improvements over traditional servers, RAID solutions, and technical support and IT engineering services from HP.
“HP ProLiant server architecture is ideally suited for ISS video server software,” said Roman Jarkoi, Chief Technology Officer of ISS. “HP ProLiant servers complement the fundamental design philosophy of ISS solutions – highly extensible, suited for large scale deployments, and an absolute commitment to leading-edge technologies of utmost quality.”
“With SecurOS video server software optimized for the HP ProLiant architecture, customers can more easily deploy ISS’ technology onto HP ProLiant servers while security applications work seamlessly to keep our transport hubs secure,” said Iain Stephen, vice president, Industry Standard Servers, Technology Solutions Group – EMEA, HP. “This is a big step forward toward safer travel, and the environmental credentials of HP products help ensure minimum power is used to deliver maximum security – a win-win in our eyes.”
Systems integrators on multiple ISS projects have begun implementing the ISS SecurOS and HP solution, including airport projects in the Middle East, and enterprise-scale deployments in Europe and the United States.
