ISS integrates the MOBOTIX Megapixel IP Camera System

Frankfurt, Germany, October 2, 2007 – MOBOTIX cameras, an industry standard for high resolution megapixel IP camera technology, is now integrated with the ISS SecurOS framework.  This convergence of cutting edge technologies allows for several key advantages over traditional analog systems:

• High Resolution video images capable for image analysis (smart video) provides far greater detail and reduces number of cameras necessary
• Low bandwidth settings / Compression on board camera reduces load on networks and servers
• Decentralization of image acquisition actually allows for greater centralization of command and control (server architecture) and greater fault tolerance / redundancy

The ISS – MOBOTIX integration allows, for the first time, superior smart video image analysis to be implemented over an IP security camera deployment.  Additionally the implementation of an IP security network with the SecurOS framework allows for the implementation of a completely redundant, fault tolerant architecture that uses a hierarchical server architecture.  With SecurOS Video Management Servers (VMS) managing the security policies and user rights, each SecurOS Network Video Recorder (NVR) can be modular and manage specific tasks or cameras within a larger network.  For example, if any NVR or network device fails, the SecurOS VMS can automatically relay the IP camera signal to a different NVR.

The integration of MOBOTIX can additionally allow for far greater image resolution, often reducing the need for multiple cameras to cover the same camera view.  With the additional option of using specific network switches to utilize Power over Ethernet (PoE), and installation’s wiring requirements can be significantly reduced, resulting in immediate ROI by using the MOBOTIX line.
