Following on the Heels of Fox & Friends Appearance, ISS Has Its Most Successful Show at ISC West
Woodbridge, NJ—April 1, 2010— Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leader in video management and analytic software, announced today that it had its most successful show ever at ISC West, with more booth traffic, press and customer meetings, and leads generated that at any other previous show. The company’s momentum at the show was helped by the special appearance on March 21st of Wolfgang Ritter, Director of Sales and Marketing for ISS, on “FOX & Friends”, the most watched morning news program in the United States, to discuss space technology’s impact on facial recognition technology. On the heels of “Jihad Jane” and “Jihad Jamie” stories related to homegrown terrorism, concerns have grown about how to deal with such potential threats and what security technology can be used to track such individuals.
In his interview with “FOX & Friends” host Steve Doocy, Ritter explained how ISS has been able to improve facial technology by using some of the advanced algorithms of space technology. “You often have just 1/25th of a second to capture a suspect’s face on camera as they walk through an airport, subway or other public area,” said Ritter. “In that way, it’s as if you’re playing the game Memory, but in this case you have over a million cards. The technology must be super fast to capture that suspect’s face.”
He went on to explain that the technology of ISS has been proven in the space field, and that the same technology that can take images of cities with pinpoint accuracy from miles above the earth is now being used for civilian purposes to keep people safer in airports, banks, malls, etc. As Doocy interviewed Ritter, footage from a subway played in the background where certain faces were singled out by cameras using ISS software.
At ISC West, this facial recognition technology was show in live demos, which generated great interest, as most companies rely on stock footage for such demonstrations. In addition, the company showed demos of how this innovative software is being used around the world for License Plate Recognition (LPR), Container Recognition, Traffic Monitoring, and Retail (POS) security.
“We had people from every business imaginable interested in what we were doing at the show,” said Aluisio Figueiredo, Chief Operating Officer for ISS. “The bottom line is we are everywhere at this point—in banks, ports, rail stations, airports, subways, tunnels, etc—due to the fact that our software has so many different applications, has truly open architecture, and an intelligence that surpasses anything available on the market today, due to its advanced algorithms. Quite simply, a company that can address the complexities of government and military security is very well suited to address civilian concerns.”
The ISS team wishes to thank all its customers and partners who helped make this their most successful show ever.
The company will be at Expomin 2010 in Santiago, Chile from April 12th to April 16th, at ISC Brazil in Sao Paulo from April 14th to April 16th, and at Expo Seguridad Mexico in Mexico City from April 20th to April 22nd.
