Compulsive Gamblers Caught on Camera: ISS COO Explains How at L.A. Conference | Company Continues Sales Momentum at ISC West and Exposeguridad Mexico

Woodbridge, New Jersey—April 18, 2011 - Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leader in video management and image analytic software, will address at the Intelligent Video Conference in Los Angeles on April 19th and 20th how video surveillance is being used to catch compulsive gamblers in the act. The company also continues its international momentum with very successful shows in the last couple of weeks at ISC West in Las Vegas (sharing a booth with OTN Systems) and at Exposeguridad in Mexico City, where it had its own booth as well as one with Samsung, and where it previewed Version 6.0 of SecurOS software solutions. Last year, to deal with the increased call for its solutions, ISS participated in trade shows in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, and the United States. This year looks to be even busier.

“Our worldwide growth continues, and we expect 2011 to be our best year ever,” said Aluisio Figueiredo, Chief Operating Officer of ISS. “Our proactive approach to security is in line with the increasing need of end users for solutions that are not merely after the fact evidence, but can actually help prevent incidents.”

Both South and North America continue to be major business hubs for the company, with significant customer traction in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. Installations include the banking sector, Safe Cities, and government, retail, and hospitality and gaming applications.

On April 19th and April 20th, ISS will participate in the Intelligent Video Conference, which is part of the IMS Conference series. ISS COO Aluisio Figueiredo will discuss Facial Recognition solutions currently being used in the hospitality and gaming industry in South America to address the problem of compulsive gamblers. If a spouse has good reason to believe his or her partner is gambling away the family funds, they can have an order written up by the court system to have an image of their partner’s face entered into a data bank, so that he or she can be spotted on a Facial Recognition system as they enter and leave the casino, and can also be caught “live in the act”, so to speak, at the gambling table, etc. An alert can then be sent to appropriate authorities. This can then be used as a crucial piece of evidence in a divorce proceeding, or to give the spouse legal footing to deny their partner access to financial accounts.

“As video surveillance rapidly migrates across the world to an IP model, network and software compatibility issues get even more complicated,” said Christopher Zenaty, US National Sales Manager of OTN Systems. “Ideally, one must be able to address both transport issues along with changing software needs. With this partnership, customers get all the benefits of custom fit virtualization as well as the ability to easily expand their solutions at will.”

ISS will also participate in ISC Brazil in Sao Paulo from April 26th to 28th and at MIPS in Moscow from April 26th to 29th.
